There is a very slight difference between Ajith's and Vijay's movies. Ajith movies if declared flop or infact criticized as a poor story - the movie is out of the theatre. Fans accept it. They move on. Vijay's movies once declared a flop continues in the theatre, advertised as though its an oscar winning movie and makes it to 100 days changing it from a Flop to hit. Interesting point to be noted there. Worthy a line in B'schools !!
I know both actors havent got the maturity to pick up good scripts, yet I am more inclined to support Ajith only for his confidence. His attitude to do something different, to be straightforward and frank. Infact I didn't have preference until he started with the string of flops and that is when i liked him for i could connect his repetitive failure with that of mine and how he keeps trying to be different only to find later that his movie is not what he expected.
He has improved then on and is now one step close to being a "good actor". He seems to have realized that slightly with Varalaru, a big way in Kireedom and hopefully with Billa.
Expecting Billa to be rise of the phoenix.

:O
Even I prefer Ajith to Vijay for the same reasons stated by you. He pursued his passion-racing when his career was at a peak, amidst all the criticisms by the people from the industry and he has now managed to prove that his passion had not come in the way of his acting skills!
